Pregnancy is a miraculous journey, but certain conditions can pose severe risks to the health of the mother and the fetus. One such rare and potentially life-threatening condition is Cesarean Scar Pregnancy (CSP). It occurs when a pregnancy implants itself in the cesarean scar left behind from a previous delivery. CSP is a dangerous condition because it can lead to serious complications, including uterine rupture and life-threatening hemorrhage, if not identified and managed early.
The increasing rates of cesarean deliveries worldwide have led to a rise in cases of CSP, making awareness and early intervention critical for better outcomes. Below, we present a real-life case that highlights the risks, management, and successful outcome of this condition.
Cesarean scar pregnancy is a dangerous form of pregnancy, In which pregnancy gets implanted in the cesarean wound of the uterus of women who underwent cesarean delivery in the previous pregnancy. They are more prone for rupture uterus and hemorrhage, which is life-threatening. Early diagnosis and proper location of the pregnancy can save the mother.
Here we present a case of cesarean scar pregnancy where the woman presented with acute severe pain and impending rupture. She was treated on an emergency basis, and we could save the life of the mother. Her uterus was also saved because of the conservative management.
